NYE Fireworks, from the sky!

31 December 2017 (or is it 1 January 2018?)

One can never get bored of this amazing display, this show that millions watch on their TVs, and hundred of thousands come to see live, from one of the many overcrowded view points in the harbour.

Rooftops, parks, balcony, boats, anywhere you can have a look at the fireworks, you will find people.

And once more, Peter and Aerial Film Australia have been commissioned to cover them from the sky. With the chopper from Sydney Helicopter, and Mark Harold piloting, we take off for this grandiose show of pyrotechny.

Test Shoot with the Hydra

The gimbal is on, and after a few hiccups, all systems are green. The beast is happy and purr like a kitten. We are off to a fly test before heading to Milford Sound for the actual shoot.

Le gimbal est assemblé et monté sur hélicoptère, et après quelques petits problèmes techniques, tout fonctionne. La bête est heureuse, et ronronne comme un chaton. On va faire un petit vol pour tout tester avant de partir pour Milford Sound où le shoot aura lieu.

Shotover F1 – Alice Spring

A little job Peter and I did in Alice Spring, shooting a promo launch of the new Bentley, proving that it could drive at 210 miles per hour.

Very fun job, always love to travel, and well, play with big toys… We rigged the Shotover F1 on a R44, quite small helicopter really, and then on the second day we rigged it on a flat bed ute, for some car to car action. Great fun!

Those pictures were taken at sunset, when the chopper was shooting the evening sequence for the launch.

Un petit boulot que Peter et moi avons fait à Alice Spring : filmer une petite vidéo promotionnelle pour la nouvelle Bentley, pour prouver qu’elle peut rouler à 210 miles par heure.
Un boulot bien sympathique, vu que j’aime bien voyager et jouer avec des gros jouets! On a monté le Shotover F1 sur un hélico R44, un petit hélicoptère, et le lendemain, on a filmé des scènes de voiture à voiture, en montant le Shotover F1 sur un pick-up a plateau. Que du bonheur!

Ces photos ont été prises au coucher du soleil, quand l’hélico filmait la scène de la vidéo avec la belle lumière du coucher du soleil.

Shotover K1 – Garie Beach

Today we were shooting a commercial down in the Royal National Park, with the Shotover K1. We flew to be there by the break of down, and started shooting almost right away. While I couldn’t be in the chopper while they were shooting, I enjoyed the sunrise and taking some shots the chopper flying down low.

Aujourd’hui, on filmait une publicité dans le Royal National Park, à environ 2 heures de voiture au sud de Sydney. On y est allé en hélicoptère, bien tôt, pour être sur place au lever du soleil, et on a commencé à filmer tout de suite. Je n’ai pas pu rester dans hélicoptère pendant qu’ils filmaient, mais j’ai pu apprécier le lever de soleil et prendre des photos de hélicoptère volant bien bas.

Helicopter job at Sea Bridge

Today I helped Peter Beeh on a job with the Shotover F1 down at Sea Bridge, not far from Wollongong, a part of the coastal road is quite spectacular and often used for car commercial. While Peter was shooting, I was on the ground taking some shots of the helicopter flying low…

I know now where I will put myself to get better shots next time!
